What is a spectrum diffuser?

i took a picture off my back porch and up in the tree appeared to be a small green object with a red lazer coming out of it, i was told it was a spectrum diffuser,

My guess is that it was a leaf with a drop of water on it. The water acted as a prism and split the sunlight striking it into its component colors. You just happened to be standing where the red color was being refracted.
